Ben and I might like to get in on that convoy. We're coming from the Salem area and have not been to the Leavenworth area. Is the trail section "extreme"? I haven't got lockers put on the jeep yet, so we can't get too crazy lol!!
Since people are coming from all around, I suggest we meet up somewhere on the east side off 84 so we can stage past the heavy traffic areas. My suggestion is the parking lot between McDonald's and TA truck stop off exit 17. We'll try to get there around 0630 and leave at 0700. That way, with the trails we have planned, we should arrive to the rally around 1530. I have not personally done the trails but I think good AT tires and 4wd should suffice. I'll be doing them with a trailer and I expect to make it through.

For those in the greater Seattle area, I typically have a convoy that meets up at the Monroe Safeway and heads to Plain via Hwy 2. We meet up around 0945 and try to roll out by 1030 which puts us in Plain around noon. It's your last chance to pick up whatever you forgot, gas up, and shoot the breeze while waiting for the stragglers.
Oregon crew - Be aware they are shutting down lanes on I-90 for a long overdue repaving project.
UPDATE: Meeting spot for the convoy is 450 NW 257th Way, Troutdale, OR 97060, which is the Columbia Gorge Outlets off exit 17. It's right at the light past Love's Truck Stop. Most of the stores don't open until 1000 and if you've ever been to any of the truck stops off exit 17 then you know it's a cluster fuck getting outta there. So show up early, splash your tanks and go across the street.
Jeff and I will try to get there around 0630, do a quick brief at 0700, then split. That way, with the trails we have planned, we should arrive to the rally around 1530. This gives us plenty of time for setting up our (and your) AO at the rally. If you are running a few minutes late, hit us up on the radio or text and we can wait a few. If you're going to be later than 0720 then you're on your own.
I have not personally done the trails but, from my map recon and intel dump from the locals, I think good AT tires and 4WD should suffice. I'll be doing them with a trailer and I expect to make it through. I will be bringing a chain saw and there may be a little snow.
Jeff and I run HAM and some two-way. We usually run simplex on 146.400 and we have some spare HTs to lend to those who need to "monitor" the frequency - since you have to be "licensed" to transmit.
So far I'm tracking: Chris Matt Adam Jay Amos Jeff Will
I think if we get 10 or more rigs, we'll split into two chalks but I don't see that happening.
Holler if you have questions/concerns
If you want this in a 5 paragraph order then go to hell... but I might actually do it.
